Free Photoshop

Adobe is giving away Photoshop for free…Sorta. Adobe recently release Photoshop Express. Express is a flash based online photo editor, which allows the user to non-destructively edit and enhance their photos. You can upload your photos or pull your photos from Picasa, Photobucket, or Facebook. This is not a Photoshop replacement, but it gives users basic photo-editing capabilities and also includes a decent slideshow. If you haven’t tried it out, you should, it’s FREE.photoshop express screenshotBasic editing tools on the left panel.photoshop express screenshotSelecting one of the tools gives you a strip of options you can choose from on the top panel. One of the neat things about editing in Express is, mousing over the small images changes the main images instantly.photoshop express screen shot

Road Trip : WPPI

It’s that time of year again where wedding and portrait photographer from around the world all congregate to Las Vegas for the annual Wedding and Portrait Photographers International, otherwise known as WPPI. WPPI is a huge event and is akin to the superbowl of conventions for photographers. It allow us to stay up to date with the latest trends and happing in the industry. WPPI also helps us to continually measure ourselves to the highest caliber of professionals in the industry. It is a battery recharge for the creative mind and an extra jumpstart for the business side of photography. Just as important is the opportunity to network with fellow photographers, to hang out, talk shop and take our craft to the next level. All this means that our clients can put trust in our ability and desire to offer not just the best but deliver the best in our clients experience and wedding day photography. Our replies to email and phone calls will be delayed while we are at the convention from Sunday to Wednesday.

Song and Jason | Engagement

True love transcends great distances. Song and Jason grew up in China and attended grade school together. Song eventually came to America for school. Jason unbeknown st to her did the same. It was through mutual friends that the two eventually learn they were on the same continent across the ocean from where they grew up.

It wonderful how fate works. Song, Jason and a few of their friends all planned a trip to Thailand together. When the trip nears, each friend eventually had to cancel for one reason or another, leaving Jason and Song to visit Thailand on their own. It was that fateful trip that Song described as possibly the kindling of a relationship that transcends distance and became more than just childhood friendship. All of Song’s friends still swear that though it sounds conveniently suspicious on their part, their last minute cancellation were all coincidental and not premeditated or flavored with any ulterior motive whatsoever.

Back in the states, Jason is finishing up his doctorate work in Florida while Song is working in San Diego. Instant messaging and long distance phone calls helps to grow their relationship. But it’s Jason’s semimonthly visits to San Diego that helps to cement it. San Diego is better than Florida claims Song. Jason reason that the beaches in Florida is better thus Florida is better. But in the ends, wherever their hearts are near one another is all that matters. It may have taken them a half a world away before their heart realized that…but that is why fate works so wonderfully.song and jasonsong and jasonHaving some fun with the local seagulls.song and jasonLoving the mood and warmth of this one as the sun sets lower over the ocean.song and jasonNight falls and we went over to the Gaslamp quarters in downtown San Diego to work the off camera lighting and get some amazing images.song and jasonsong and jasonSong and Jason – it was so nice to meet you two and it was too much fun just hanging out like old friends. David of DavidHam:

Hi Dirk. We had an off camera flash held up high above the couple by an assistant. You can see the flash if you look at the top left. It was trigger by the camera with pocket wizards to give the mood and quality of light you see in the resulting image.
